Company is having to compensate suppliers after making over-optimistic predictions of EV sales volumes

Porsche’s over-optimistic predictions for EV sales made earlier in the decade have saddled the company with higher-than-average costs for those EVs it currently sells, dragging down profitability.

While some companies (eg Volvo) have said that newest EVs are matching or even exceeding the profitability of equivalent ICE models, Porsche has said it needs to wait until the next cycle of EVs before it can hope to hit the same target.
