Not seen or read the survey, but I wonder if it takes into account differing equipment levels on the base models? I quite regularly hire cars in the States and Europe, and in some places they are nowhere near as well equipped as UK spec cars.

Nothing new here so no surprise. And it's going to continue since low volume rhd cars cost more to make, the majority are imported so distribution costs are greater... and well, we seem to like premium models or models with high specifications - so even entry models are fully equipped. Then there's the massive investment manufacturers are having to make to ramp up EV production and models with autonomous features all of which are driven by legislation...

Only cars or pretty much everything is more expensive than in most of the world, while not having anywhere near highest earning or lowest taxes?
