New boss for Rolls-Royce

There was a shake-up at the top of Rolls-Royce last week, when chief exec Tony Gott (above) resigned. New boss is Karl-Heinz Kalbfell, non-executive director for the past year.

Gott headed Rolls since March 2002, and a spokesman refused to comment on speculation over a falling out between Gott and BMW chairman Helmut Panke. Problems with the Rolls convertible project (right) are another suggested cause of Gott’s resignation.
