A revised Toyota Yaris, which adopts some of the design themes set out by the new radically styled Aygo, will go on sale this summer.

Toyota promises improved dynamics and says the supermini’s suspension calibration has been modified for improved ride and handling. The current model’s engine line-up of 1.0-, 1.33-litre petrol, 1.4-litre diesel and hybrid powertrains will be unchanged.

The exterior uses a less pronounced iteration of the black cross shown on the nose of the Aygo along with LED rear light units and a diffuser integrated into the rear bumper.

The cabin is said to be improved in three areas: a greater feeling of space, improved perceived quality and more choice of colours and equipment.

Toyota will announce more details, including pricing, closer to the vehicle’s launch.
