The new Mercedes-Benz A-class range will be headlined by a new 193bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged version when sales kick off early next year. Merc has announced full details of the seven engine options. The other three petrol models each gain 100cc in capacity and become A150, A170 and A200. Three new diesels complete the range, all now 2.0 litre units instead of 1.7 and with 82, 109 or 140bhp.
A new six-speed manual becomes standard on the A180 CDI, A200 CDI and A200 Turbo. Merc’s first continuously variable transmission, called Autotronic, will be an option across the range.
