Here it is, then, the new Land Rover Defender against its rivals for the first time.
They include the Jeep Wrangler, the original 4x4. Since 1941, the Jeep has been setting the standard off-road.
Then there's the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. It is new too - although it doesn't look it - and with three locking differentials and superb off-road performance, it's no walkover.
