Business and Trade Committee calls on the government to bring forward review of enforced EV sales targets

The House of Commons’ Business and Trade Committee has called on the government to bring forward its review of the UK’s zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate because it “poses significant risks to the UK automotive sector” in its current form.

The mandate requires manufacturers to sell an increasing proportion of electric vehicles annually. The target rises from 33% this year to 52% in 2028, 80% in 2030 and 100% in 2035.
