I do think the car industry is perhaps not being genuinely honest here. There is no chip shortage worldwide right now - if so how come we aren't seeing issues with laptops - mobile phones etc - perhaps they aren't the same types of chips but I do wonder how hard the industry is trying to catch up demand - with higher retails, lower discounts, higher residuals where is there urgency to keep customers inside.
jaguars issues are far more than a chip shortage I think - the range is crying out for new product - they launch an outstanding EV in the iPace and then forget it, they develop an XJ EV and don't launch it - poor management I think is at the heart of Jaguars issues - but that is a familiar story isn't it
