When manufacturers announce mid-life updates to a vehicle, they often mean minor horsepower increases or revised bumper contours. Renault, on the other hand, has focused on refining the overall experience of new Megane E-Tech electric. In fact, Renault has gone so far as adding a completely new battery, upgrading its infotainment system, and restyling Megane both inside and out. Now that's dedication.
Whether you are contemplating your first move into electric driving or simply seeking a stylish upgrade to your daily commuter, new Renault Megane E-Tech electric is certainly worth a spot on your shortlist. Here’s why…

One thing that truly sets Megane – and the rest of Renault’s latest models – apart, is the native integration of Google built-in(1). Instead of struggling with clunky proprietary navigation systems, drivers enjoy full access to built-in Google Maps and the Google Play Store out of the box – without needing to connect a smartphone.
Renault has also upgraded new Megane E-Tech electric’s infotainment system to include the latest updates to its EV journey planner. This means the Google Maps navigation isn't just for finding turn-by-turn directions – it communicates directly with the car’s powertrain to know whether you have enough charge to arrive at your destination. If not, it will automatically add a charging stop to the route. What’s more, it’ll pre-condition the battery so that by the time you pull up to plug in, the battery is at the optimal temperature for the fastest possible energy transfer, saving you time. It’s a neat feature that makes longer journeys effortless.
Also coming is the new Google Gemini AI Voice Assistant, meaning Megane owners can now use more natural, conversational language to interact with their car. Better still, because the Google system is fully built into the car, you can use voice commands to easily adjust features such as the climate control and driving modes, select a playlist, or even find a nearby coffee stop.

Another useful addition is the new driver recognition function. This is particularly handy if you share your car with another driver. The system instantly recognises whoever is sitting behind the wheel, and immediately applies their profile, so the seat is automatically adjusted and their infotainment preferences are loaded. No more spending five minutes getting comfy when it’s your turn to drive.
For those who do want to connect their phone, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard, backed by a wireless phone charging pad positioned neatly within arm's reach.
